Does ESPN help the AAC more in order to get the leftover 8?

OR

Does Fox help the Leftover 8 raid the AAC since they are losing quite a bit of inventory if ESPN wins?

How much does ESPN want to hang on to the AAC or the Big 12. They have every major piece on college football right now. BIg 10, SEC, ACC and PAC 12 plus Notre Dame. They have plenty of elite inventory and if they are looking to save money, I am not all together certain their long term goal isnt for FOX to "steal" AAC teams by adding them to the Big 12.

We have to remember, ESPN still has to bid to keep the Big 10 and the PAC 12 plus sweeten the pot for the SEC. Their contracts are about up and it will be as expensive as ever. We keep thinking this is to help the AAC. What if they would actually prefer to get the AAC and Big 12 off their books. Let FOX take 7-8 AAC teams and then that contract is dead too. All in one swoop ESPN no longer is paying for either conference and can bid aggressively for the premium content.

Also remember that ESPN already has a THIRD tier deal with the Leftover 8, and non of OU or Texas content is included in it. I dont exactly see that deal going away just because OU and Texas left.

Question for you, who do you think has a bigger wallet and who do you think is more motivated?

Don't foget that the mouse bought half of FOX only a few years ago.

ESPN has the bigger wallet but I think many are assuming that their goal is to keep the AAC and Big 12.

They have to bid on the Big 10 and PAC 12 plus redo the SEC contract.

This might be a perfect time to let the BIg 12 raid the AAC, which kills the current contract and then they allow a competitor to outbid them. Massive cost savings which opens up cash to secure their elite content.

We all assume ESPN is acting in a manner that helps the AAC but that may not be their end game. ESPN plays multi level chess.
If their goal is to help break away from the NCAA, they will destroy as many conferences as they have to, in order to lock up the top 30-40 blue blood schools.

Right now they want to destroy the BIG XII to further that cause, 13 years from now it could be the AAC or the PAC or maybe both.
