Boogie was close IMO, but maybe it was a pipe dream to convert him to a PG.

He has really tried to land one (Skyy Clark, J.D. Davison, early with Sharife Cooper and another guy who went to UCLA.) Baugh was the closest, but his limitations were greater than Alo's. Funny thing is our best half court offense comes from letting the big men run the offense from the high post. (D. Williams and M. Dandridge) I would start E. Bates, Nolley, LQ, D Williams and J Duren. Off the bench should be his old East team. Alo, Malcolm and Chandler with Timberlake taking D. J.'s spot with Minott as the scorers for that 2nd squad. Maybe Tyler to replace Minott as a scorer off the bench if Minott shot is not falling.

Biggest fear. Bates is a 6'8 Allen Iverson. Can he play without taking all the shots or keeping the ball in his hands?

On your last comment about Bates…I don’t know enough about him to say if that is a valid concern or not. Obviously we gotta take the chance on a player with this much talent.

I saw where he shot 38.8 percent from the field last season. That is a bit concerning if he’s a volume shooter. Most players in high school shouldn’t stand a chance trying to guard him.

Surely that is not accurate...The 38.8% from the field...

From the 3 maybe...But from the field in HS no way a guy rated #5 in the class shoots it that poorly.

That’s what it said on one of his highlight videos. However, not sure why you’d publish that if true.
