There are a lot of things for a driver to take in when they travel through there. The horizontal curves, the changes in grade. I think ODOT should consider a thin deck overlay with some color to help differentiate between the white markings and the concrete deck. Indiana uses an overlay that has a red brown tint on some bridges. That would go a long way. And install permanent pavement markings that last longer. Not sure if those work on bridge decks but maybe could be incorporated into the overlay

In defense of the designer. Sometimes the constraints and the dollars available provide some challenges.

Thank you...that is far more knowledgeable than this structural engineer could ever be. Clearly articulated positives and negatives there, nothing more to say about it than that.
