I think the coming season of basketball will be unusual due to the effect of the transfer portal plus a much higher level of play because players are getting an extra year -- and many are staying around to play either at their old school or a new one. There is a lot of hope at ACU that we will be stronger due to a fine group of new players joining strong returnees, including key leadership and top notch skill players that are playing another season. Support for the new head coach was very strong and he was the architect of the intense defense.

There is just no real way to tell but overall having more height and probably more speed could produce a stronger team for us -- but it looks like most teams are getting stronger, so who knows how things turn out. It will be an interesting season and the level of play should be even better for most teams. Looking at several WAC schools, there is a lot of skill hanging around. Everyone will just have to wait and see what chemistry develops with their new blends of talent. It should be an exciting new year all around.
