If it helps land a kid that gets the team to the NCAAs its a good investment with the performance bonuses in most coaches contracts.
This could hurt team chemistry though, as players start comparing how much they are being offered. If player X gets $100k a year, and has a bad season, while player Y blows up, and is only getting all the normal benefits, that could cause issues.
Programs and their employees aren’t allowed to pay players directly for their NIL.
There is a gray area on whether or not programs will assist the players in landing these NIL deals, since it could appear as the program was paying the player which is still against the rules. A lot of that could come down to state laws.
Boosters are allowed to pay players for NIL, unless it is based on-field performance or to help recruiting. Admittedly, either would be tough to prove, assuming the boosters business is legit.

Good to know. I could see some shell companies being made for this very purpose for the Alabamas of the world. This should actually make it easier for them to pay their players than going through all the secretive shady stuff they've had to use in years past. A fake company created for no purpose other than paying players is nothing compared to the other stuff they've had to go through.
