Return almost everyone and will be better this season. I think 7-5 (5-3). 9-3(6-2) if Garcia starts at QB over Ahlers.

As a fellow ECU fan, I don't agree with this at all. Throw out the anomaly that was 2020 for a moment. We could be a MUCH MUCH better team than 2019 and still finish with 4 wins.

Compare the full schedules of 2019 with 2021. We're swapping Gardner-Webb(FCS), NC State(ACC), William & Mary(FCS), and ODU(1-win CUSA) for...

Charleston Southern (FCS), App State (Sun Belt but respectable), Marshall (we just poached 3 of their players), and South Carolina (SEC).

2-2 OOC

USF, Temple, Navy should be wins in year 3 with those programs where they are. Obviously Navy is a wild card, but still. Tulane at home, and Houston on the road I think are the other two wins.

Look at the depth chart from last season, a ton of Freshmen and Sophomores playing a ton of snaps.

Tulane was a home game last year, and we lost. Navy is back in Annapolis this year. 3-4 wins in conference, and 1-2 wins OOC is my guess. I just doubt we get the good end of both those estimates. If I had to go to Vegas today, my ceiling is 5 wins.

Please be sure to bookmark this and rub it in my face if we surprise everyone. I won't be mad about it.

Seems like you're operating under the assumption that ECU won't improve at all. ECU is returning 20+ starters and adding needed help with DJ Ford in the secondary. The O-Line is reportedly competent now. ECU was hurt by weak links on both lines last year which by all reports seem to have improved significantly.

4 wins is the floor with FCS, USF, Temple, and then you would think pick up a win somewhere else. South Carolina is not good, all OOC games are winnable 2 wins does not seem unlikely at all to me. 6-6 seems most likley scenario to me. The defense should be good enough to keep ECU in the game with most teams on the schedule this year.

Wins
FCS
USF
Temple

Toss Up
App
Marshall
USCe
Tulane
Houston
Navy

Losses
UC
Memphis
UCF

Even winning 2 of those toss-ups puts ECU at 5-7, I don't think thats the ceiling at all if progress is actually being made.
