Unless you both permanently reside in the basement then, no, you don't count toward that statistic. At least that's my take. LOL.

Three years ago, my parents' basement was my permanent address for about 3 months when we were moving back to the Midwest and hadn't bought a house yet.

I've also lived there for at least 1 month in every summer for the past 6 years.

The reason is simple: they have a pool, I have 3 little kids who love to swim, and I love the free babysitting.
