No, it's pandering to the fan base in spite of itself...completely different thing.

It's funny cause I would say about 75% of the reaction I have seen is that Martin would energize the fan base, and bring in a lot of old donors. Seems the majority think this would be a slam dunk and not an FU to the fanbase.

There are really people who buy tickets who think this would be a slam dunk hire?

I’m on board but I wouldn’t categorize it as anything but a huge gamble hire unless we all overvalue how this program is viewed by top candidates.
I haven't seen people saying slam dunk but I'm sure there are people. I've seen some excitement. Some fans are hopeful.
