And even if he is fired he would probably be snatched up by another NBA team. Based off some of Steven's responses when he was asked about the Indiana job he didn't seem to be interested in coming back to coach in college. I bet he would do analyst stuff before taking a college job.
All true, but UNC isn't Indiana, particularly today's IU. It's a top five, probably top three job. That's one he has to think seriously about if he has any thought of ever coaching a college team again.
I doubt they can get him though.
And UNC isn't the NBA.
No, but it pays better.
Brad currently makes 3.67 mil a yr. Roy was making 3.9 mil. Brad wouldn't leave for an extra $23,000 and I'm not entirely sure UNC would offer Stevens Coach Williams current salary.
But thanks for the chuckle anyways.....I needed it.
Edited: The top 5 NBA coaches currently make over 8 million a year with Greg Popovich topping the list with $11 mil a year and Rick Carlisle at #5 with & 8 mil a year. https://www.essentiallysports.com/nba-ne...u-stunned/ The top 5 Men's CB coaches make over $4 million with Calipari being the highest at $8 mil a year and at #5 is Rick Barnes at Tennessee at $4.7 million. https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salarie...all/coach/
I think the bigger issue is not whether he would accept the $23K raise, but if he would take it after he is fired by the Celtics--which he likely will be soon. Or, whether the blue bloods at NC would want to bring in a coach that recently was fired.
Personally, I think Stevens would be a great hire for them, but many who know better than I do suggest that they will want to go with someone with connections to their program.
