Nope. It's still just Burno and Trendon Hankerson's brother.

As much as I would like to see who Coach Burno taps as his assistants, I also hope he can elaborate how he was able to have a promising recruiting class in 2 months practically from scratch. I have no doubt that he developed relationships with the recruits and transfers from ASU, but to have them sign with NIU as well as coaching the remaining team is quite a feat.
Maybe Coach Burno and Nick Hankerson have the same energy Big Red has.

What Burno did in less than 60 days is amazing.

You can argue about the importance of coaching vs recruiting. I’d say it’s at least 70% recruiting. Sadly, MM wasn’t very good at it.

from an outside MAC/Toledo fan view I'm pretty impressed with Burno's recruiting. Not just that he filled out the roster with capable players under limitations, but that he did it with pretty talented mostly local kids who have some experience but should be around for a few years to build on. Also like that he created a real frontcourt. Now, the MAC will be won in the backcourt and NIU won't have one of the best in the league, but it's tough to build a solid deep and big frontcourt at the mid major level and it looks like NIU has that. Still a wait and see on coaching, player development, in game adjustments, etc... I thought MM was a good defensive coach and kept the team energy pretty high, just couldn't get in enough talent to really compete.
