Interesting... What your guys feelings on that? I mean, pulling a 1/3 of a team plus the coach from a team that was good not great in a lower tier conference doesn't seem like it's the best path. I guess if he's grabbing all the best players combined with the few returners it might not be bad if they can mesh.

Eh, I'm kind of blasé on the matter at this point. Two are one year and gone guys and the other two still have 4 years of eligibility and contributed for a tournament team for as freshmen. It's pretty clear that he is just getting guys familiar with him and his system to try to quick set the culture/playing style...it is what it is. Next year he will have 4 schollies to fill again, so we'll get an idea of his recruiting chops then. Once we had the mass exodus I think any rational UC fan would've told you that an above .500 season was kind of expected...who knows, maybe these guys come in and have a hell of a jump between freshman and sophomore year while the Clemson kid's knee is back to 100% and Koval is a +Vogt replacement in the middle.

Yeah, I think this is fair. I am still holding out hope that he can pull a fast one and land an impact guy out of nowhere late in the cycle (technically the deadline is July 1), but it's clear to me that Wes is trying to reload the freshman class by replacing the guys that left. He wants to set up a young core and build on top of that for the next couple years.

The guy knows the expectations here. He isn't voluntarily bringing in these guys if he doesn't think it's going to help long term.

I have to say, it's nice to have a coach who's players actually want to play for him. Would have been nice if the last guy had that quality.
