it dont think has to do with being young (not ready) as much as sometimes good players get buried in the depth chart of stacked teams..

cook has some elite scoring capabilities ..he's on the shorter side. 5'11-ish (and not a true point) if he was a couple inches taller he would have likely been a top 50 recuit..
He was putting up crazy numbers in HS, AAU, and the top 100 camp (camp/tourney run by the nba for the top 120-ish recruits based on who accepts)

might not be the best on paper add, 3star composite guard who was bench at lsu .. but anyone who follows aau knows he is a huge get...
also bench players from lsu have worked well for aac teams so far (brandon rachal)

and a random side note is that he was also a 4star WR....
