His turnover rate (and free throw shooting last year) are the two things that really hold him back as a player. Honestly, he does a lot of good things otherwise. He has been a lower usage version of Keith Williams for the most part. He turns it over more, but shoots less and is a better passer.

If he comes I hope he and Yetna are dudes. He plus Yetna would be great for us. If not, he can't just assume the Keith role. Keith was asked to / tried to do too much last year. There are things to like about Collins if the coach can harness those things.

i dont get the Keith Williams comp...they have completely different strengths and weaknesses

i think keith williams could be an elite #2 player on great team as is..
i just dont like collins, i think collins is a star player that adds more to losing than winning

collins biggest strength is that he is likely the best in the conference at drawing fouls from driving (not actually very good at finishing)... thats the only above average selling point.. but then he is poor at actually making the FTs... average on defense not great, average shooter when open, horrible shooter when defended.. needs to be ball dominant to have an impact on offense. ..
he has potential that if he improved he could be very good (especially as a shooter).. but with 1 year left, not much long term development can be done

The Keith Williams comparison in that he is a lead guy on a bad team. That's how I see Collins as well. He is the exact type of guy you DONT WANT when you are starting a rebuild.

To bearcatmark's point on Collins' shooting: He made less than 1 three a game. He's not a shooter. He's a ball dominant, turnover prone guard that can't shoot.
