outside of elite recruits, few transfers have the same level schools recruiting them as they did out of high school

look at tulanes star player.... he was a top 100 4star, with tons of offers after high school...went to bama was deep bench... went in the transfer portal after his freshman year, the caliber of schools recruiting him drastically less

with high school recruits, there is the veil of "being unnoticed", "diamond in the ruffs", "way better than he is rated"..as its impossible to properly rate ever high school player... if you go to college and you arent an impact player that veil is gone ...

this is evident nationally everywhere, and common knowledge for anyone who even follows recruiting at all ...

other logic... if you are going to go the transfer route...you go with proven commodity or high cieling .. you could add thweat and could have him end up deep bench at temple too, wasted scholly (aka tai strickland).. or you can get 16pt-7rbs from 6'8 big from umbc who is almost guaranteed to be an impact player to some level

McKie built a real good relationship with Thweatt. He was really the first guy on him his junior year before he broke out. It was Temple, Monmouth and Bowling Green for a while. He'd be a day one asset to our pretty weak frontcourt. Forrester is the only proven piece, and he can't stay on the floor. Jourdain looks very promising and Hicks is coming in, but the obvious weakness for Temple, as it usually is, is gonna be the frontcourt.

McKie certainly wouldn't be too proud to bring him in. Let's see what happens first, WVU still has a tournament to play. Can't imagine him sticking around down there with minutes like that, but maybe Huggins has a spot in the rotation next year. Who knows.

Temple needs to go hard on Seth Lundy. He played high school ball 10 blocks down Broad Street from campus and got sucked through that Roman Catholic pipeline Chambers built.

im not saying he cant contribute... im sayin temple will have better options

thweat is 6'7 210...that is tiny for a big...

an example of options.. penn state is expected to have its entire roster transfer out
2 already in the portal is

John Harrar - 6'9 240.. 8pt 8rbs -- from the PA area
Seth Lundy- 6'6 220.. 10pts 4rbs 32% from 3-- respectable for PF, from philly
(vs big 10 competition)

which has a better chance at being an impact player for temple next season? one of them or thweatt

Do you not think we're not going after them too? Because we are. Doesn't mean we can't go after Thweatt. We're going to have at least 3 ships.

And LOL @ 'PA area'. Harrar is from suburban Philly. One of my HS's rivals.
