Look, here's the whole truth about it. Penny is a HUGE basketball mind that can draw up plays, I'm sure, that would rival any great coach out there. What he had shown he can NOT do... not yet... is to make his players follow the game plan 100%, or even 90% of the time. That's what great coaches do. They bully their players into performing under control ALL the time. It takes a special (some would say "assshole-level") personality to make that happen. Penny is a very nice person, but I suspect he needs to ratchet up the pressure on his players a notch or two before he/we will reach the success level he his capable of. Doing that without alienating them is a tricky business these days. It's not like it was back when he was a player. And he knows that. So he's got to ease into it over the course of a couple of more years. I'm gonna be patient and wait for the best to happen eventually. Football's goin' good, so I'm in no hurry. That will tide us over until Penny can get us back to top25 level basketball on the regular.
