UVA-Wise, VA State & VA Union are all D2.

Also Richmond could always park football in the Big South or ASUN.

I think Richmond, a school that gets a lot of its students from the Northeast, is more likely to go to the Patriot or follow the AE defectors than they would hook up with academically inferior schools in the South.

While UTC, ETSU, UNC-G and to some degree WCU are outside the ranking of the CAA Football schools Citadel, Furman, Wofford, VMI, Samford & Mercer are all ranked equal to or better than most of the schools in the CAA.
