RE: WAC Football 2021

In this instance the Remaining Southland Conference schools booted the Texas4 out immediately. The Texas schools are now scrambling to fill the 8 conference game void left by that decision.

Here are the current schedules of ex-SLC schools.

ACU- Southern Utah, SMU
Lamar-Tarleton, UTSA, Northern Colorado
SHSU- Dixie, Northern Arizona, Southeast Missouri
Stephen F Austin- Alabama A&M, Texas Tech, Miss Valley

The Texas schools will look to fill out their schedules by picking up games with new WAC rivals in need of games, a possible scheduling alliance with another conference or return games with the other Texas schools leaving the SLC.

Dixie State has 10 games scheduled and could possibly pick up one game in addition to SHSU who is already in their schedule.

Tarleton only shows 5 scheduled games, including Lamar. It’s possible the
Texas could schedule to remaining 3 Texas schools.

Southern Utah has three out of conference games scheduled and will remain in the Big Sky for 2021 where they will play an eight game conference schedule. It doesn’t appear they will be available for any games aside from the scheduled meeting with ACU.

NMSU is a FBS Independent so I didn’t look at their schedule. It isn’t likely they need any games but if they do happen to be in search of a last minute replacement hopefully they will give one of us a call.

Most FCS schools have already filled their 2021 schedules, making a scheduling alliance unlikely for 2021.

NMSU already has a 12 game schedule. However they play at Hawaii, which would allow them to add a 13th game. They haven't taken advantage of that recently, but there is a possibility they could do it to help out an incoming conference member if they could make it work financially.
