Yep...only way he was our HC was if he stayed here until Fickell left or he went to a smaller school as a HC. Now his salary is higher than he would likely make here, and he'll have all but the highest level HC openings available to him if he is successful.

Does anybody have an actual source for this $2.5M per year deal from Notre Dame? This thread seems to be the only place that is assuming it is correct. The article above isn't 100% clear, but I read that as being the rumored LSU offer, NOT the ND deal and I wouldn't assume ND matched the LSU offer.

From our side it seems that we matched and added to LSU offer which brought the total up to 2.5- 2.6.
