And a PUF institution, at that. $500 million in new construction and upgrades you've enjoyed over the past five years is just a drop in the bucket for the UT System. If they decide they want football in South Texas, they bring football fo South Texas. Simple as that. UTRGV is a juggernaut just waiting to happen. You just opened a new medical school and hospital, for Pete's sake. Virtually overnight. This is why I think we'll see a A&M Kingsville/Corpus merger as an effort to keep the Force in check in South Texas. With the #Texas5 now in the WAC with FBS on the brain, football could very well be in play for Los Vaqueros, but it damn sure won't be FCS.

And when that happens, the HEB/Whataburger money will be flying there. Just out of curiosity, what would it take for HEB Park to be expanded for a FBS UTRGV?

Never been there but based on the pictures online, the endzones are still open. In theory they could convert into a horseshoe.
