I think it’s great when anyone speaks up about the blatantly unfair system college football has to determine a champion. I don’t care if Coastal has only been FBS for four years. They are undefeated. And should get an opportunity to play against the best and prove themselves. Cincinnati should get the same opportunity as well. The more people who speak up and raise hell about the CFP, the closer we’ll get to some meaningful change. If it somehow gets to one automatic bid for a G5 school, that’s something. It would at least be a path to a title, which is a lot more than we have now.

One example to look at this is and how bias the system is... Iowa St ends up ranked #10th with a record of 8-3 and gets an invite to the Fiesta Bowl. Everyone wants to forget Iowa St lost at home to Louisiana (not LSU) 14-31. The Louisiana team that finished 9-1 and ranked #19 with their 1 loss to Coastal Carolina (27-30). But since Iowa St split close games with Oklahoma they must be really good. Unless you actually look at who Oklahoma lost to... aka Kansas St who finished 4-6 and lost a home game to the mighty 4-7 Arkansas St Sun Belt team. According to the CFP those kind of losses don't really matter unless it happens to a group of 5 team.

Iowa State is a good example. Why have they been getting so much love? What does the committee like so much about them? They need to take the selection process out of human hands. Let predetermined factors and computer algorithms decide. Humans are influenced too easily, especially when those making the decisions are tied directly to P5 schools. The system needs to be changed and the CFP needs to expand. Both need to happen. The committee needs to be abolished.
