4 slots? - Are the 4 slots for the 2 players + 1 open 14th slot + 1 anticipated transfer. That equals 4. Is that how you derive 4 slots?

Why does UT not use 14th roster slot? It seems to have been open for some time. Have we had 14 scholarship players recently? I cannot recall a recent season where we did use all 14. It's still 14 - correct?

The men handled the classes opposite to women last year except for Rollins who was listed per years played. Football was handled like men's basketball. Not consistent throughout AD.

WBB has 15 scholarships. 13 on this year's squad leaves 2 openings, plus the graduations of Jansen and King means 2 more. So 4 total, and we have 2 verbals who should both sign in November. That leaves 2 slots that can be used for transfers, or other recruits if coach decides to.

Cullop usually has a full 15 player roster, but this was out of the ordinary. Before last season, there were no confirmed openings for '22. Not until Lance decided to forego a 5th year, Perdue & Idowu transferred and Bolser was a medically casualty did 4 slots came open. Maybe the coaches suspected some of those, but Cullop is not one to over-sign and then possibly have to force someone out. So, they didn't recruit any HS players for '22.

Once slots came open, they did sign the 2 transfers, both experienced players that filled the most critical team needs. They could have signed 2 more, but Cullop has been talking for the last season and a half that the chemistry on this team is really special, and she doesn't want to disrupt it. So she said they would only sign select players they thought would blend well into that chemistry. And besides, they have back all 5 starters, plus the 3 bench players who made big contributions. Add in the 2 transfers and there is really no playing time left for anyone else. So, why risk signing someone who may become disgruntled from not playing.

Will have to wait and see if they sign any more players for '23 either in November or after the season, via the portal. They could lose a transfer or two after this season, but honestly I am not sure who would leave. Maybe Doherty as she is unlikely to see much time this year again. Barnes, I suppose could take her last year elsewhere if she wants, but she seems very close to this team, and her dad has become a huge UT fan. Curry I think is here as much for academics as BB (I think she has like a 4.0 average) so could also chose to move on for a graduate degree or something, but she has 3 more seasons to play, and could grow to be a coach on the floor by the time her UT days are over. Can't see losing anyone else at this point. Unless of course, like I said earlier, if Q gets a big opportunity in the pros or something.

awesome summary !!! This is great for everyone on this board. I can literally print this screen and distribute to the people around me at the women's games (section 109) and have them all up to date on the personnel. Love it.

I never attended a womens game until 2010 and then got hooked. So now I have seasons tickets to both mens and womens bball and football. Basketball at UT is such a great activity during winter.

The weakness i see in the team is post scoring and defense. MTSU's centers tore us up last year and CC was so SLOW to adjust. Scoring and D from the C position is key or developing schemes to assist the low post.
