Pretty confident that schools, at least those outside the autonomous groups, will be moving their Olympic sports to a regional model in a couple years. Football and men's hoops will still be in conferences.

This is against NCAA rules.

They will change the rule. This is one of the recommendations made by the Knight Commission a few months ago and I think there are a lot of schools on board with this idea. Nobody wants to send their field hockey team 1,200 miles away when there are plenty of schools to play against relatively nearby.

I hope so because it’s a silly rule.
