Several MW schools have agreed to "soften" on Boise State retaining its separate football rights, per the same source from last Jan. SDSU is still the loudest voice of opposition to BSU getting an extra $1.8MM/year, separate from other MW members for home football games.

Boise could still come because the money would be better in the AAC and I’ve got to believe that ESPN would want them back.

But it's not really--not for Boise as a "football only". The MW deal is around 4 million a team, but Boise gets an extra 1.8 million a year---so they get 5.8. We get 7 million a year---but a "football only" share would probably only be around 5 million. So--its a small paycut---and Boise would also have to relegate their olympic sports to a lesser league (like the WAC or Big West). So---a move to the AAC is really not viable if the MW is leaving Boise's "special deal" in place.

Yes but you are not considering a probable NY6 game every year. And other revenue sources besides TV. Larrondo estimated an increase of $4M for TV and an increase of $10.5M overall in his email to Aspey. And if Boise State leaves, the remaining teams will probably not get $4M each. Then there is the national exposure via ESPN to consider.
