No one considers Rice it's rival, not even UH. However, I can't co-sign off on the notion that no rivalries need to be cultivated. If that were true, CUSA would be a perfectly fine conference for us. But it isn't. We wish we were in the AAC, mainly because it would reunite us with Tulane, SMU, and Tulsa. There must be rivalries there worth pursuing or we'd be happy where we are.

Results to date support your statement that no one considers Rice a rival. UH is at 25, but then a big drop to Tulane around 5. Rice fans aren’t frequently naming any current C-USA schools. Outside of the P5, it’s the AAC schools you name above.

And that's because they're "like-minded." It's a sad state of affairs that we aren't even good enough to associate with them. Think of it, three little private schools, with no meaningful history of success in athletics, left us behind in their dust. It doesn't get any worse than that. Shame on you Rice University.
