im saying class doesnt matter, its the skillset that matters.... memphis roster as is (and what looks to be next years roster as is).. isnt built for super fast paced, you dont have payers that are great of the bounce

your respond with a roster that had martin, a player that was great off the bounce and could easily beat defenders off the dribble..
martin worked because he was great of the dribble not just because he was senior

We've been beating people off the driibble all year. We haven't finished well around the rim. We haven't shot the 3 ball well in our losses. We have been hitting 3's as of late. I agree about the pace, but I thought we were discussing half court offense. As for Martin, He was a 3 star recruit from Memphis that nobody really expect alot out of who developed into a great playmaker and scorer(AND FINISHER} by his JR and SR years. Just saying I believe when Penny regularly has upper classmen running this offense, it will look much better. For some of these higher ranked recruits, it takes a little while to get the hero ball out of their system.

no you havent... ive watched the majority of memphis games... beating people in iso, having players behind you....
memphis guard/wings dont beat anyone off the dribble... they attack basket and try to shoot/layup over them... they one thing i noticed with memphis that works is the pump fake and drive (especially on the weaker defenses) and picks....but straight up man to man (1 on 1) there isnt a memphis player that can beat anyone with good D 1on1

that is the real reason they are having trouble finishing, its becuase most of your layups/floaters are contested ...

dejon jarreau (on houston) had the exact same problem but for a completely different reason.. he is elite at beating players of the dribble..he was finishing at an elite level at sophomore.. as a junior last year our shooting as a team was really bad, so teams left us open at the 3 but collapsed on drives 2/3 defenders in the post, every layup contested..he was bad finishing as a junior....this year teams have gone back to being scared of us shooting, giving us true 1 on 1s again and he's gone back to being elite at finishing, becuase less of his layups are contested

Most teams zone us. We weren't shooting 3's well. You literally described our issue with the jarreau example. Same for ALO and Baugh. Boogie can get around anybody but you still have to make decisions with the ball. The zones are coming farther out now that we are making 3's. sometimes they are forced to play man. That's when Cisse gets involved on P&Rolls It's really as simple as making shots.
