RE: ***General AAC Basketball Game discussion***
i have this theory that sometimes getting better makes you worse

- i felt that with dejon, he was the best driver in the conference as a sophomore (exclusively layups)..horrendous shot (but only shot when he was wide open- being dared)/no floater or mid range game (might have taken 5 total all season)--amazing sophomore year

his junior year his shot went from horrendous to passably bad --added the floater and mid range to his arsenal, more willing to shoot 3s ..that improvement made his worse...more than half his shots became floaters and midranges ..his efficiency and production plummeted

---why am i saying this? i think that is what is happening with gardner... was a horrible shooter as a underclassman..so he was just bulldozing everyone in the post for points or drawing fouls putting up crazy numbers....his shot improved to passable, now he is constantly looking for the mid range.. now his production and efficiency is down
in both, reducing a top tier skillset, to more utilize an an average to below average one ..but i get it for both...they both need to be shooters to have a chance at the pros
