We have 13 scholarships in use, counting Stokes who got suspended. Don't see how he can play for us before next season, since they run July 1 to June 30.

If you're suspended for the season, can you pull somebody's scholly? I think not. And Jayden is on scholly, so that doesn't work, either, mid-season.

The same thing happened to us with Stokes' brother Jarnell a few years back, and he wound up at UTk.

Pesik, you're not getting it. Once you award a player a scholly, it's for a year that runs July through June. If Penny was worth $100B, it wouldn't matter. He can't take Jayden off scholly and give it to somebody else until July 1. Same thing with Stokes, afaik, unless they somehow changed the rule.

I'm not saying there isn't some way to do this, b/c stranger things have happened, but there is no obvious way. We have been through this before at mid-term.

I do agree that it would be weird to be in the running if we can't offer him a scholly. Surely Penny is aware. Maybe there's some way I'm not aware of, but that certainly has been the rule for as long as I've known it. At least when we tried to sign Jarnell Stokes a few years back.
