memphis has 4 fundamental issue:

- 1) memphis is just an accumulation of the best players penny could get his hands on, not organized recruiting .. memphis issue has been obvious for 2 straight offseasons -- creators off the dribble- they dont target ball handlers they target the highest recruit no matter the position

the key to great offense is defensive movement/creating mismatches...no one on memphis is capable of beating anyone off the dribble..nolley and jeffries shot over players, boogie isnt that shifty or fast, defenses dont respect lomax or baugh on offense, lester is a spot shooter ... a guy like kendric davis (smu) blows by his defender, gets a clear path to the rim to score or help comes and he get its to the newly open players. at least it causes defensive rotations, that could have guards trying to defend bigs in the post

- 2) memphis is the land of dreams --everyone is playing in their dream positions not what their real (effective) positions...nolley and jeffries are offball wings who shouldnt be dribbling much...boogie isnt a point guard .. lomax isnt a starter on a great team

- 3) there is not leader on memphis--- no player getting mad when they are losing..the players are playing hard but no rallying call...no tre scott, or corey davis yelling at his teammates or helping them when they are down..they are just individually playing hard, not trying to get in each others way

- 4) memphis is too much of a free for all on offense.. you can win without a legtimate point, but it needs design....memphis runs almost no set plays and little design, its just you guys ar skilled, go out there and score... if you want nolley to be the main scorer create a system where the team help him get open shots, like when cincy ran 4/5 picks per play to get cumberland looks...if you want lester shooting lots of 3s, run set plays to get him lots of open 3s like hosuton did with armoni and not leave him out there too create his own
