That's an odd statement in this OP. There's really been none of the talk that you're claiming.

It's also odd time periods that you're framing your claims around. Everyone (well, almost) acknowledges Pastner and Tubby both ended up as disappointments. During the Penny era, we have been consistently above .500.

Finally, I'm pretty sure we were "legit top 25" for Joe's last 2 seasons. One finished in top 25, the other was wire-to-wire top 25, until we got dismantled by Virginia in the tourney.
