it doesn't seem like there's much anticipation for college basketball unless it's just me. ratings for sports in general are down which is interesting since we can't see it in person and there are less things to do. college football has been awkward for me. it's just not the same without fans and i'm sure it doesn't help that my 2 favorite teams (psu and lsu) are terrible.
Hey, if you don't want to watch, don't watch. Nobody is stopping you. I heard the same stuff before baseball season started. "Oh, the season's meaningless because it's only 60 games". "Too many people are getting Covid...cancel the season". Then once the season got going, the games were exciting, and the postseason was the postseason, except with little or no fans.
Once the college basketball season gets started, it's still college basketball. If a team wins a championship, they win a championship...there's no asterisk.
I still want to be at the games, and as someone who has spent each of the past 30 winters enjoying Drexel Basketball at the DAC, it pains me that it's likely that fans will probably be shut out. I hate to use these words, but unfortunately "it is what it is". I'm still going to be watching the games and hoping for a great season for each of our teams. And maybe good things will happen with this tackling this virus so that by March, maybe fans will be invited to the championships. Fingers crossed!!!!
