With a avg qb Western wins that game by 10. The FAU defense held the Western offense just about the same stats as Chattanooga. So to be 100% honest I did not see anything special about the FAU defense. Western had a number of receivers open all night and 4 or 5 drops balls that had nothing to do with the defense. If Western had a avg qb that would look past the called route...two wide open WR/TE that would have been easy TDs right down the middle of the field. There's a reason Piggy has one of the QB ratings in FBS even without a INT all season.

Chattanooga 122 yards 3.7 yards a carry, 132 yards on 16 completions
FAU 94 yards 3.5 yards a carry, 163 yards on 19 completions

As for who's defense played better,,,Western, right up to that last drive which was 75 yards....with 60 of those coming from the new qb that Western did not adjust to.

At some point the numbers get so small that a 25% reduction in offense is 25 yards. You have to see my point. Things happen in a game because of the way the game is being played, that’s why drops happen and turnovers happen. That’s why the what if conversation is so ridiculous.

We played you to 3 points, period. He didn’t miss the fg because of the wind he just missed it, watch the replay.

I will say, and said during the game that your D was definitely better than I expected. Your qb played worse than I thought at the game until I watched the replay. Missed throws and some drops but much of that is due to a solid d forcing situations.
