You see you open a can of worms when you try to put a time frame of when it is OK to not confirm (What time frame is acceptable). You do your job.

Secondly to try to fix it by packing the court is also wrong.

I am hearing a bunch of parrots giving the same argument that the party gave. If that was the argument why didn't they pose that 4 years ago. The argument 4 years ago was let the people decide...Which the Dems cried about and had the nerve to say the same thing this time around (Which I found rather funny).

If the Senate was Dem while Trump was/is Prez.... he would have to come up with a candidate who the Senate would confirm based on who the Senate would find passable as Dem controlled arm.

It would not be the first time that a Senate and Prez were not of the same party but had to fill a SCJ seat.

If the Senate was Dem controlled this past September, there is not way in hell they would have let Trump nominate anyone - just like 4ish years ago when it was Obama vs./ a Rep Senate. If the Dems had the Senate back then, they would have rammed a body through just like Trump just did.

Anyone who believes otherwise and f-ing fool.

I agree they would not have confirmed if the dems were in power in the senate...Without question...Trump would not have put forward a candidate anywhere near far left enough for them to even consider as it would have been political suicide.

But lets say RBG decided to retire instead of Scalia passing away in 2016...The senate would have likely confirmed the nomination. They didn't confirm in 2016 because it would have shifted power of the court.

The issue is not if the other side would do it...If either side does it, it is wrong.

We cant continue to blindly accept reasoning from either party...These parties are about maintaining power. If given a decision between making the right decision for the country or staying in power they are picking staying in power.
