Maybe I’ve not seen him have bad games.

It isn't that Shai is not a good qb. He is. He can make plays with his feet, but his accuracy on passing has gotten worse, especially on his deep balls. His decision making on option plays has always been iffy.
He was a step back from Kevin Ellison. Both had the ability to make something out of nothing, but KE was way more consistent on making good reads, and making the right decision with pitches.

Do I think Justin Tomlin is the answer? No clue. But from what I've seen watching film, we have a lot of young guys waiting that seem like they could have the tools to be something good. And since we likely have a new OC next season, I'd rather go ahead and get a new QB in with the new OC and start fresh.

Shai's been good, and he helped us get our bowl win over EMU, but it is time to move on.
