No, just the normal regulatory process. It takes forever to get a new drug to market. And the regulators want to kept that way because it makes more jobs for bureaucrats. My career first, my agency second.

I think Trump exerted tremendous pressure on the agencies to expedite. You can call that politicization or you could call it appropriate emergency response.
