So that we don't waste tons of person hours (being gender neutral) searching for possible transfers only to discover that some may have PPG less than 0.5 of their GPA, here is the list by conference and school with additional relevant information.

Are we recruiting a 6' 4" SG from the WCC with 2.0 PPG? Probably, definitely not. Certainly not what we'd expect on several grounds.

Once again, we know where our roots are, Midwest, and have contacts in New England, Mid-Atlantic, etc. through the coaching staff. I would look at conferences like the MAC, B1G, Horizon, A-10, MAAC, NEC, etc. The type of schools which are in the Midwest and go east into N.Y., Pa, N.J. MA, etc. Even conferences like the Patriot or Ivy.

The one thing which is hard to do without spending man or person hours is to find fmr. h.s. players from Michigan who are transferring but not in the conferences I listed. Emoni is the most obvious. OTOH, it is easier to go looking at say Duquesne which has MI h.s. players like Ayers and Acuff who are SG. Acuff is the type of transfer EMU could build around (3 years of elig/good 3-ball shooter, etc.).

If I'm Heath. I start with Noah and add a GOOD shooting SG. Then I go to the front court and add a dynamic scoring SF from Ypsilanti (smile) and add another quality PF. My rule of thumb in the NBA (and college) is to have at least 2 (preferably 3) impact players. Noah is #1.

I started scanning the list (about 1/2 done) and what I'd suggest:

Duquesne, Marquette, MSU, etc. I can see SGs at Duquesne and Marquette. A PF or two at MSU.
