There's going to continue to be a shakeup and the WAC is a position of strength. There very well could be a school or school(s) exiting the Southland as these other schools come in. Just bide time.

How is the WAC in a position of strength for football? They still don't have the required number of teams for an AQ. The ASUN deal will end after this year. The WAC needs a full football school to get that AQ for 2022.

Apparently you missed the point and the facts. The WAC has enough football schools for an AQ when they all become playoff qualified. Adding another D2 school won't change the date the conference receives an AQ. If UTRGV does start football as a member of an FCS conference they automatically count on day 1. With that in mind the only way to speed up the AQ is to get a waiver or add FCS qualified schools. Also and I am not a SHSU fan, do you really believe they would get left out assuming they don't loose more than one conference game as a WAC champ?

This. WAC FB schools will be fine without an AQ in the short term. The best WAC team (assuming they get at least 7 D1 wins) will be in the FCS playoffs.
