Why leave a newly-expanded WAC that has the potential to earn two NCAA bids in some years to go to a smaller conference with lesser facilities and less fan support that will likely be a one-bid conference going forward?

Ask Cal State Bakersfield that. Why leave a supposed budding multibid league, and why not bang on their doors begging to come back?

Bako announced their move to the BW and actually moved there way before there were even rumors of the TX4. And the BW is their dream conference. They desperately wanted in. Not a good comparison.

The Birds moved July 1, 2020. Less than one year does not equal "way before rumors of the TX4." They - and Cal Baptist - knew reviving football was a goal of the WAC, yet still left a budding multibid league. Cal Baptist could do the same if the WCC comes a knocking. You don't suppose they desperately want in? Even without both BYU and Gonzaga, in Mongoose's scenario?
