Academically... the WAC > SLC.

Only one of the Louisiana schools was on our level academically (New Orleans which is the second tier of the Louisiana academic tiers along with UL-Lafayette and La Tech; LSU is top tier); the other were the lowest tier.

Competitively... remains to be seen in football and I think there's potential there for growth, but certainly basketball where the $$$ is made, WAC > SLC.

"On our level"... all the public institutions are 11k+ in enrollment in the WAC... not including Chicago State. Southland schools, half are under 10k enrollment amongst public institutions. Amongst private schools, the WAC schools have much deeper endowments and all have bigger enrollments than HBU, and some of whom are bigger than UIW. And PS, look at whom SHSU considers its peer institutions - you wouldn't find any SLC schools in that mix.

You won’t find Liberty Jr., Albuquerque’s Homeless Population or Mormon Masses on their either.
