RE: WAC Expansion/FCS - for real (Official Discussion Thread)
I'm not going to pretend to understand the point of all these posts. As I understand it, the Texas 4 and Southern Utah joined our conference to form an FCS conference under the WAC banner. At this moment in time a WAC FBS conference is only a pipe dream to be studied by all those involved. In the meantime, NMSU will continue to chug along as an FBS independent; nothing has changed for NMSU by adding of the Texas 4 and SUU. With the start of WAC football, Dixie State and Tarleton State will get the FCS football home they badly need. The Texas 4 will get to part ways with the less forward thinking Louisiana schools. And, SUU will built instate rivalries with Dixie State and Utah Valley; while moving to a better basketball conference which is move travel friendly in non-revenue sports.
