My only reason for involving myself less to do any kind of "touchiness" than it does being factually accurate. If anyone would like to debate the IRS about GCU's non-profit tax status, that is totally up to them. Besides, doesn't the fact that collegiate sports are even being played (or attempted) during a global pandemic show that all institutions are in it for the profit, regardless of tax status?
