Wow. The last D2 football program in California. If the WAC is ever looking for another D2 Olympic sports school to move up to D1, these guys could be it.

Exactly. Don't look now but this could be a prelude to Azusa Pacific reallocating football resources to a potential move up to D1, following in the footsteps of Grand Canyon and Dixie State and Cal Baptist which were all former APU conference mates in the PacWest. Unfortunately if the current WAC expansion goes through there won't be any room at the inn.

Also this is probably the death blow to GNAC football since the conference will be left with only three football-playing members.

They'd have to wait a while as the WCC has nit shown any interest on them either.
