Only the WAC responded positively. They may have had a few SLC schools “go to bat” for them, but they had no shot.

They do a feasibility study and only list the WAC and the SLC. SLC is only in there to show they tried to get a regional conference. Any reasonable person would want Tarleton in the SLC over the WAC. Especially those concerned with budgets and travel.

No other invites come, WAC invite is all they have and because they want to be a D1 school, they join.

This is what happened. Anything else that deviates from this, is total BS, cooked up by delusional fanboys.
