One of the items they mentioned was Southern Utah being in hot pursuit of FBS status. Huh? I know that some of the Southland schools wanted FBS. But I haven't seen any other "sources" stating that Southern Utah was serious about FBS.

I will say this, if Southern Utah makes FBS before the Montana and Dakota schools, I will laugh my butt off. Especially since Montana wanted to pull a BYU and be a big fish in a little pond. Just seeing them get left behind by a school they looked down on would be extremely funny.

I wouldn't rule out FBS for SUU if it had the only football program in all of southern Utah including the rapidly growing St. George metro area, but with Dixie State in the picture both schools will have to settle for FCS for a long time. The local population (233K combined in the St. George metropolitan area and Cedar City micropolitan area) is adequate to support two FCS programs but not two FBS programs or one FCS and one FBS program.
