I think all 3 backs had a better shot to score in the Army game on 4th and goal than Ridder on a sneak. They may be keeping in the wings, but it's been very effective.

Bolded, here's hoping they've been keeping a lot "in the wings" or it may be a long afternoon in Oklahoma. Given the level of competition to date, including the worst team in the American, USF, I have to think we've only revealed a small number of plays for opponents to study.

But the playbook aside, execution has been the issue. Here's hoping Denbrock unleashes some (successful) surprises against Tulsa.

Yep, was my thought as the linebacker stepped into his gap before the ball was ever snapped and we had 3 timeouts. Ridder should have called that one off. That said, i see the Brian Kelly called goal line qb run of Tony Pike in the Orange Bowl with Grutza on the bench in my nightmares. Worst call in Bearcat football bowl history.

There isn't much disguise or trickery to the wildcat formation.

There is an extra blocker though. On the 1 yard line most defenses are thinking run, especially against UC. It definitely doesn’t hurt to at least run one play out of 3/4 plays in the Wildcat.

You could also use that assumption that it’s always a run against them. I’m sure Doaks can throw a football that far and if practiced would likely succeed. Heck, put it on film in a game we have a large lead and it will always be in the back of other teams minds.
