What I saw was Desmond Ridder playing with confidence and swagger. He was ripping off great runs and completing enough passes to keep a hapless Boston College team guessing.

I only bring this up because of Fickell's comments and our observations here about Ridder not playing with confidence last week. Ridder has an effective game when it's going well. Here's hoping he revives whatever he had going last January in Birmingham. It will be much needed the next two weeks.

Finally, it's clear UC misses Warren in the backfield. There's plenty of talent in the RB room, but the Truck was a special player and made the entire offense better, including Ridder.

I have talked about this with my coworkers a bunch last year, and a lot at the start of this season. I think Des can be a fine College QB if he can get us 300 yards per game. We won't light the world on fire, but we should always be in games with that kind of production.

The issue is that he is not running at all. and if you are only throwing for 200 yards a game this offense will struggle. If Des could throw for 250 and run for another 50 or 60 yards things would look a lot better right now.
