I don't need lectures on talking to front line workers about people dying from the virus - I previously stated it was more deadly than the flu. There are up to 20,000 deaths from the flu every year in the US. That is not likely to change. Are those lives not valuable? Why have we not had social distancing and mask wearing to take the death count down to 0? Because we can never get there.

How does 200,000 COVID deaths in 6 months compare to 20,000 in a year from flu? Plus at least with the flu there is a vaccine which helps reduced impacts from spread in a portion of the population who get the vaccine and for which it is effective (neither is 100% but better then no vaccine). Seems like addressing efforts to contain COVID19 that has already caused 200,000 deaths - and will end up higher - by masks, stay at home , and social distancing, and that have been shown to reduce the total deaths that were projected higher, were certainly worth efforts that have not been deemed needed for the flu.
