Sorry if that offends or triggers, but it's true. Like every virus, you treat it, but you don't shut down economies or change your life in any other meaningfully significant way.

Sorry dude you are listening to the wrong people. Even with the restrictions in place which limited the spread. It still has a death rate right at 6-10 times that of the regular flu. The 6 months of the 2019-2020 flu season saw between 20,000-40,000 deaths. While the 5 month of the Covid outbreak has seen right at 152,000 deaths.

As of this morning 48.5% of all cases in the US are still active. Of the closed cases 93% have recovered and 7% have died.

Death rate per group

Flu
0-4 years .01%
5-17 years .01%
18-49 years .02%
50-64 years .06
65 over .83%

Covid
0-19 years .0%
22-44 years .1%
45-54 years .5%
65-74 years 2.7%
75-84 years 4.3%
85 years+ 10.4%

As of yesterday Texas had a COVID death every 6 minutes and 16 seconds. Flu like?

No, this is a freakin pandemic by every definition of the word.
