Yea, I don't think he actually wants to take three or four MEAC schools, I think he wants to use the threat of taking three or four MEAC schools to take over the entire MEAC as a pooled conference office. You can then run two legally separate 8- or 9-school conferences as functional divisions of one umbrella group, but with double the NCAA auto-bids.

It becomes a lot more workable if the Big South is involved. The MEAC gets the schools in VA and north, the Big South gets the NC and SC schools and the ASUN gets the schools in SEC territory. They work together to take care of football for all involved.

MEAC would gain Monmouth, Hampton and RMU for football associates, but lose NCCU and SC State? (7)

Big South would have Campbell, Gardner Webb, NCA&T, NCCU, Charlston Southern and SC State? (6)


ASUN would have North Alabama and Kennesaw State? (2)

Dont see how that helps....
