linky

Quite the scorecard your side ran up over the weekend there, lefties. All in one location as well.

But hey, the Feds should just stay put inside their own courthouse according to one poster here.

Rioters are unquestionably going too far with some tactics. Remember when I criticized the fed’s methods because they were likely to escalate tensions? Looks like I wasn’t too far off on that criticism. And I seem to be right that, had they not decided to start rounding up individuals and specifically remained defensive around the building they were meant to protect, there’s a good chance this escalation wouldn’t have occurred.

You’re basically advocating for the actions that have led to this **** show, which is a bit odd.

I wonder also, are you also looking at injuries sustained by some of the protestors? What was the scorecard there? We know there’s at least one broken hand on an elderly navy vet.

While Portland had these protests ongoing for weeks, it has literally exploded since the Feds overstepped and basically antagonized the protestors.

The 1000 person assault on the courthouse and arson of the police building happened *before* the van incident, and before any Federal 'outside the wire' excursions, my padawan. Seems like you have your two items swapped in time.

Perfect Tanq argument - build a strawman to attack.

I never said that the courthouse was not vandalized or set on fire previously - yes protests have been occurring since May, which have included riots (see bolded). That is why the feds were brought in, to protect the federal courthouse (see previous statements I've made noting this).

However, the current unrest we're seeing appears to be of a different magnitude since the feds started being more aggressive and throwing people into vans.

So either argue that it isn't of a different magnitude or that the increase hasn't been a result of the federal response. But don't build a strawman about how I'm saying these protests/riots weren't occurring. I'm arguing that how the feds eventually responded to it, added kerosene to the fire and backfired.

lad --- you said this: "it has literally exploded since the Feds overstepped and basically antagonized the protestors."

Prior to the van incident, the Feds did what *you* said they should be limited in doing --- they *defended* the Federal buildings.

The massive escalation in protests (the event that the city proclaimed a 'riot', the arson of the police building, and the very massive assault on the courthouse) all happened *before* what you talked about as the root cause of the escalation (the van pickup in the immediate vicinity of the courthouse). So cut your strawman ****, and actually pay attention to the timeline why dont you.

Or is this some time bending superpower that you are exhibiting presently?

I'm confused - are the protests not larger now then they ever have been? Because that is what I am arguing.

While there had been protests and violence before, the scale has increased since late last week. The information I've read indicates as much - would be interesting to see where you're getting the information that the size of the protest hasn't increased since last week.

Again, yes, there was arson and rioting and violence before hand, but this appears to be occurring on a larger scale. Or are you following Trump and inflating crowd sizes to fit your preferred narrative that the feds didn't exacerbate the situation with their methods?
