My response was to the suggestion (perhaps I misunderstood your post) that your disagreements with the right wing contingent here are conducted politely which is in contradistinction to your recent argument with Lad. You implied that Lad's behavior was somehow a big reason behind the often sh***y level of discourse that is found in the Quad. I disagreed with that sentiment (sorry if I misread your point) as I feel that Lad is a blip on the screen when it comes to bad behavior, in general, here.

Ham and I were involved in a discussion of how policing should.could change. We were in disagreement. I have the utmost respect for Ham. It was conducted entirely politely and respectfully, on both sides, unlike a recent post directed at me that used the word "ridiculous" and now, your use of the word "sh***y". But I must confess, I do not respect some of the posters from your side nearly as much as I do Ham.

As for blips, i understand a carrier can make a blip on a screen.

You're not actually accusing me of disrespectful behavior for using the term "sh***y" in that context, are you?

No, of course not, that was very respectful. One of the most respectful usages of sh***y I have ever seen. Hard to get more respectful. But some here might mistakenly think you were were referring to the right wingers here, but personally I am sure you obviously meant everybody, right?

Yes... I meant the level of discourse here in general.

Sometimes the level of non-discourse as well -- by that I mean the dropping of a vague juicy sounding phrase, then the utter refusal to engender any discussion at any significant depth on that phrase or a surface attempt at what makes it up.

Of course, some might also call that set of (non)action as 'burning down the Luby's' as a virtual high five as to how thoroughly any questioning or criticism of concept has been defeated by said act of running away from any discussion in depth.
